This is the official notice of the 2016-2017 MANDATORY Lac La Ronge Indian Band Post-Secondary Student Support Program Orientation.

Please e-mail  Vanessa at [email protected] by August 26th, 2016 confirming your location & attendance to the 2016-2017 MANDATORY Lac La Ronge Indian Band Post-Secondary Student Support Program Orientation.

All students attending school in Saskatoon will be required to attend the scheduled orientation:
Date: Tuesday August 30th, 2016
Time: 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm
Where: University of Saskatchewan Aboriginal Student Centre

Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre

What to bring:

All students attending school in Prince Albert will be required to attend the scheduled orientation:
Date: Wednesday August 31st, 2016
Time: 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm
Where: FNUniv Northern Campus 1301 Central Avenue Room 101
What to bring:

All students attending school in La Ronge – Northlands College will be required to attend the scheduled orientation:

Time: 10:00 am till 12:00pm

All students attending school in Regina and outside of Saskatchewan will receive an Orientation package in the mail and further instruction will be attached.

APPLICATION PROCESS
1) Scholarships are provided for the academic year that begins in the fall term (September) of the year of the application.
2) Applicants must provide the following supporting documentation with their application form:
 Proof of Membership – all applicants must provide a photocopy of both the front and back of the valid LLRIB Treaty card.
 A Letter of Personal Introduction to the Elder Catherine Charles Health Careers Scholarship Fund Committee (minimum of 500 words, maximum of 1,000 words) that includes the following:
 Tell us about where you were born, grew up and about your family & community.
 State your reason for choosing your field of study.
 Demonstrate your contribution and involvement in the community. Preference will be given to
individuals showing commitment to the community.
 Letter of Reference from an Instructor.
 Letter of Reference from a Community Elder.
 Confirmation of Enrolment – Confirmation of enrolment can be provided through a letter from the Registrar’s Office or Faculty Head that clearly states you are registered as a full-time student in current year of study.
 Original Official Transcript of your most recent marks or record of studies. Minimum average of 70%.

Welcome to the new LLRIB Education Website

ed-logo_002Welcome visitors! This new website will feature up to date information regarding LLRIB schools and LLRIB Post-Secondary programming and funding. The schools section will feature newsletters and photo albums of events and calendars. The Post-Secondary section will highlight updated application forms and manuals for the LLRIB membership.

There is also information on First Nation Student Success Program (FNSSP) and the DAYCARE Programs with contact information for each community daycare centre.
