August 30, 2021 – Letter to Parents/Guardians

LLRIB Education looks forward to welcoming all students back to school. While much has changed in our region in the last year, LLRIB education remains committed to protecting our students, staff and school communities by providing safe learning and working environments.

We are proud of the work of our staff members and commitment to the students during the last school year. Our schools -both face to face and online -were responsive to their communities. Staff members followed protocols and modelled those for our students. Our students showed great resilience and learned what it truly means to be part of a community.

We learned a lot from our experiences in the past 18 months and we are carrying these lessons forward into the 2021-2022 school year. We remain committed to the following three goals: Protect the health and well-being of our students, staff and families; provide quality educational opportunities and instruction; and community engagement and connections are maintained and strengthened with students and families.

All school will offer in class daily learning starting September 2nd, 2021. LLRIB schools will have several safety measures in place, which will significantly reduce the possible transmission of Covid-19. These measures are as follows:
• Mask are mandatory inside the school, including all staff and visitors;
• Daily temperature checks and screenings for all staff and students;
• If your child is feeling sick, please keep them at home;
• Proper hand hygiene expectation;
• Continued focus on cleaning and disinfection;

Along with prioritizing student and staff safety, our return to school plan will minimize disruptions to learning so students can continue to attend in class.

LLRIB education supports the LLRIBHS vaccination program. Vaccination is the most effective measure our community can take to protect one another. We strongly recommend all eligible students, staff members and community members get the Covid -19 vaccine.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools. If we continue to work together, we can keep our
students safe and have a successful year of learning.

Sincerely,

Josy Roske
Director of Education

LLRIB Education – Letter to Parents – Sept 1, 2020

September 1, 2020

LLRIB Education will be reopening the 2020-2021 school year with a weekly Blended Learning Model in place. All LLRIB students will be placed into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A will attend one week and Group B will continue Distance Learning; the following week they will alternate. The purpose for the week in class and week at home is to allow for proper contact tracing and cleaning between groups. Groups will be divided based on family connections to support our families who may have children in different schools who care for younger siblings. You will receive a group assignment and calendar indicating which week your child is to attend.

Please see the attached document which provides a quick overview of the changes that have occurred in our reopen planning. We are requesting that parents and community members do not enter the building with your child and that your child use the entry and exit doors that are indicated at their schools. If your child is taking the bus, please let your child know that they will have their temperature checked when they enter, they are to use hand sanitizer, wear a mask and they are to sit in their assigned seating. When possible, please walk or drive your child to school.

If you are still concerned about the safety of your child and would like to know the alternative options that you have as a parent, please see the quick guide below.

School Re-Opening Plan

Weekly Learning Groups
Alternating Week Schedules:
• Students are selected based on their ability to Socially Distance.
• Students are placed in groups that support student success, and students who are in the same households.
• Students will attend one week for in person classroom instruction and will participate in Distance Learning on their alternative week.
• If the same group of students are in attendance for an entire week, this will allow for faster Contact Tracing and an allowable time to show symptoms if they are unwell.
