Senator Myles Venne School is a grade 5 to grade 12 school which offers a variety of programs. There are professional staff, support staff, and paraprofessionals.
In March 12, 1993, Kitsaki School was renamed Senator Myles Venne School (SMVS), to honour Senator Myles Venne and his contributions to band control over the LLRIB education system.
The education of our children is based on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s four goals of: culture, values, skills and pride. Educational activities reflecting Woodland Cree culture and language are to be integrated into the provincial curricula to provide the educational foundation from which the individual student can learn to live successfully and happily in any society.
As part of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Senator Myles Venne School is committed to develop the whole student through a safe, structured, caring and cooperative environment in association with elders, parents, and the whole community to provide a quality education. Senator Myles Venne School will seek to provide an education that emphasizes the four goals as listed above.
